Wednesday, 22 June 2022 19:00 – 21:00 BST
Online Event
Dr. Joshi will be sharing his expertise on Ayurvedic plants for this special event. We will join him for a plant walk and live Q&A session.
The Association of Master Herbalists and the Ayurvedic Professional Association are delighted to present this special evening with Dr Venkata Narayana Joshi, PhD, MD (Ayurveda). We will be showing a plant walk around Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Dorset, where Dr Joshi shares the Ayurvedic uses of many medicinal plants. Dr Joshi also shares the unique preparation methods and the plant parts that are commonly used in medicine. With over 35 years of teaching and practising Ayurveda, Dr Joshi is a fountain of knowledge on anything you could want to know about Ayurveda. He will join us live following the herb walk video so you can get your questions answered.
The event will include:
- Pictures and videos of the featured plants for easy identification
- Medicinal uses for ayurvedic plants such as bamboo, aloe and lotus
- Ayurvedic uses for common herbs such as magnolia, black nightshade and nettle
- Live Q&A with the wonderful Dr Joshi plus special guest, Andrew Mason (expert in Ayurvedic alchemy), will be sharing his experiments of preparing Rasanyana (a milk decoction using Berberis Aristata).
The plants featured have all been grown in the UK, so this is an excellent opportunity to understand how you can make your own Ayurvedic medicines without needing to import plants from India. If you cannot join live, then a recording will be shared with all participants.
