APA Presents a workshop on Understanding Srotas & their clinical application by Dr Aakash Kembhavi.
Improve your Ayurvedic clinical skills by deepening your understanding of the Ayurvedic concept of Srotas (‘body channels’ or ‘channels of circulation’) and its application to different health conditions. During this interactive workshop, Dr Aakash Kembhavi will take a deep dive into each of the 13 Srotamsi, including the origin, passage, opening and functioning of each srota, along with the signs of vitiation by the three Doshas.
The symptoms of the 4 types of pathological changes (srotodushti) that can occur and how to recognize them will be illustrated with examples of modern diseases.
Drawing from his 20 years of clinical experience, Dr Aakash will teach how to work with the Gunas (qualities) of herbs to address the imbalance in each of the Srotas.
The speaker is Dr Aakash Kembhavi.
MD (AYU – Shalya), PGDMLS, MS (Counselling & Psychotherapy), Director & Consultant Surgeon at Astanga Wellness Pvt Ltd. Hubli, Karnataka, India; Principal at Jain AGM Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Varur, India.
Dr Kembhavi is a well-known teacher to many students of Ayurveda in the UK, having been a visiting teacher on the BA (Hons) degree for Thames Valley University (London) and the BSc (Hons) degree at Mayur, the Ayurvedic University of Europe (London). He has a wide range of clinical and academic experience, including Teaching Shalya Tantra for PG and UG, and teaching Research Methodology and Bio-Statistics.
During his Ayurvedic BAMS training, he was a double gold medalist and university topper for all years. He completed his MD (IPGTR&A) at Gujarat Ayurveda University in Jamnagar in 1998. He has a clinical experience spanning 20 years, with a specialization in Ano Rectal disorders, Urinary Tract diseases, Diabetic Wound management and more. He has 15 published articles and is a reviewer and editor of several Ayurvedic journals. Dr Aakash is married to Dr Anita Kembhavi, an Ayurvedic doctor, and their daughter Ayudha is currently in her final year of BAMS Ayurveda studies. More info at astangawellness.com.
