In the legislation it is clear that spas, nail, beauty salons, hair salons, barbers and massage parlours are to be closed. It states dental services, opticians, audiology services, chiropody, chiropractors, osteopaths and other medical or health services, including services relating to mental health could remain open (Section 47).
The APA has sought guidance from Public Health England, Insurance Companies, HSE and local councils. For members wishing to practice face to face during this time they should obtain written permission from their local council and make reference to section 47 in their request.
